Torture

This reporter says that Bush did all he could to stop people from seeing images of the Abu Ghraib torture and it is sickening to know that he would only do so to protect the image of the country. What these soldiers did is very wrong and instead of hiding it, he should confront the issue. I just found out about this incident this quarter and when I saw it I was speechless, and I still don't know what to make of it because that's how bad it is.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I understand the argument of being truthful to the country and revealing all pertinent information. But, there's some times that "I wish I didn't know," or I find myself wishing I could un-see some stuff (like the graphic stuff in the net!!). However, I won't get into whether or not the President was acting right to try to conceal such dramatic information, but I do know that once it's out there, we have the obligation to evaluate it and evaluate the actions leading up to it.
